I took Lorezepam for 8 days what will help me be calm?

Hi.. I know others have harder problems. Anyways I've been on Lorezepam for 8 days and I went off
yesterday and didn't take any it has been 34 hours.  How long before it is out of my blood stream?
I was on a small dose 1/2 of .5 at 2 pm and then .5 at bed time.
It wasn't helping me and I am in the process of changing doctors. I was afraid of becoming addicted.  Is there anything
I can take to help me right now get through things that is over the counter and calming?. I have insomnia and the Lorezepam was not helping actually it was making it worse. I won't see a doctor until the 20th of the month and I'm stressed and needing sleep. I have other health issues. The Lorezepam really didn't make me feel any better but worse. HOwever the fear of stopping it is hard.  The pharmacist told me to take 1/2 a pill last night and I didn't. I just
didn't see the point. Was I wrong? 8 days? Please don't pick on me. I'm feeling lousy, cry-e... and worn out.

Thanks,
Pam/oally19

I'm saying a prayer for you. TY for your words of support. I managed to sleep for 1 hour and maybe some minutes this morning. Hubbies alarm went off and now I'm up again. I got up cold and uncomfortable.  I'm trying though to hang in there. Pharmacist said 60 hours but I saw about 88 somewhere. I don't know. I'll be at 60 hours today. What are you or were you doing for your withdrawl symptoms! I wish you could take a day off but I understand.... people have to work.

Hi,   Well I'm up its 2 am here.  From 10:30 to now seemed like 48 hours. I hate lorazepem right now. Pharmacist told me 60 hours to get most of the way out of my system. I hope he is right.  If I can see well enough tomorrow I'll try to see if VERSANA is at the store.  Right now I'm cry-e..  I took a tylenol at 9:47 am and that must of been the wrong thing to do.  I do 0 caffeine and it felt like I was jazzed up but I tried to lay in bed and be still. I'm driving my husband nuts. How are you doing? TY for the information?

Thank you for the sleep tips.  I'm not drinking any caffeine. I am walking on my treadmill every day but only a mile. I am taking D3 and COQ10.  I bought a Complex B vitamin but it had GABA in it and I know that wasn't to be taken with the lorazepem. I am struggling with my health a bit.  I have some calcium with D and magnesium with potassium but am not taking it. I was having issues though with it revving me up instead of down so have not been taking it. I'm very sensitive to drugs. I will check out the Simply Sleep..... by Tylenol.... I want so badly to deal with this without drugs.  I'm about 45 hours from my last dose of Lorazepem... can't spell it. I might have the tea.... I'll check. I tried some tea but it made my mouth dry and that has been a problem. Dry mouth wasn't a good thing for sleeping. Xanax is a similar type drug if I understand correctly. I just want to get some sleep and get over whatever is going on with myself.
I've been cry-e today it comes and goes though. This morning I was nauseated. So far dealing but not dealing great.

I too was on ativan for my anxiety.I found that I was allergic o it. I now take clonzapam and it has made the world of differece. The only down side is you have to stay on it. The side effects or withdrawls are no joke. Talk to your doctor aboit it. You feel the calming relief is instant and dosen't go away as soon as you get the relief...Goodluck to you

Hey there.  Hope you're hanging on okay.  I take Lorazepam when I fly.  It seems to relax me.  The only side effect I feel is a bit of lethargy or flatness the next day.  There isnt any major side effect problem that I know of beyond what I stated above.

To relax or sleep there are a number of rituals that I used to do when I had problems sleeping.  You need to stick to them to see results over time:

1. Plenty of exercise and fresh air (4 hours or more before bed)
2. NO caffeine (seems obvious but needs to be stated)
3. Calcium and Magnesium suppliments.  You can look up how much to take, but if you take them together before bedtime it can be helpful.
4. Sleepytime tea in the evening
5. Relaxation meditation and music (you can find this type of thing at many health food stores or music stores or the library)
6. There are some pills called Simply Sleep, made by Tylenol.  I tried them, I think they were helpful.  They claim to NOT be addictive
7. Benedryl.  As long as you take this in small amount, it is over the counter and could be helpful.  It certainly makes me sleepy.

I hope the above list is helpful.  You can also take Xanax but you need a prescription for that.  It has a quicker reaction time but is shorter in duration.

Good luck.
