Intermittent nausea due to anxiety?

Hello Everyone. Over the past year I have had major issues with health anxiety. It all started last November with a blood test coming back abnormal. The blood test has since been deemed by my doctor as not an issue, as this particular blood has a high false positive rate and I have evaluated for the reasons behind the abnormal blood test. I then had a problem with lower back pain, so I had an MRI of my lower spine. A protruding disc was discovered in the exact location of the pain. So the lower back pain was solved and I am going twice a week for PT. Well, there is one symptom that began last November that comes and goes and it is nausea. I can go a month or more without this symptom and all of a sudden it will just appear and be intermittent for a few days or a week and disappear until the next episode. The nausea i feel is the nausea that occurs when I get car sick. I do not have dizziness, just nausea. Is this a symptom of anxiety and can anxiety be present without a person knowing that they are anxious. I have had a workup with my gastro doctor. I have had a endoscopy, a gastric emptying test, upper gi, abdominal ultrasound, sigmoidoscopy. I have also had 2 pelvic/abdominal cat scans with and without contrast, and several transvaginal ultrasounds. I am wondering if the issue of nausea is anxiety related or do I need further tests. Can anyone help?

Believe me I know all about the symptoms that show up when you are not feeling any anxiety.  They just show up so of course there is something wrong.   I truly believe that we can be stressed out and not know it.. my symptoms range from nausea, indigestion, stomach pain, a feeling of having a football under my right rib cage, so of course I have had every one of those tests done and more. CT scan of the abdom, pelvis, bloodwork, you name it I have had it done, they come back all normal. Have not had my brain checked out, but I have had anxiety for so long that I have literally brought on symptoms
of every kind of cancer in the world...   Honestly I do not mind having these tests done because I would rather be safe then sorry. Good luck Keep me posted. :) hang in there!!

Hi. Thanks for the response. Yes, I have had all those tests and everything keeps coming back normal. It also makes me feel better knowing that someone else has had all those tests and I am assuming that yours have all come back normal as well. Have you had all these tests to evaluate for nausea or for other symptoms? I guess in the back of my mind I keep wondering if it could be brain related. Have you had an MRI of the brain? I would think if it was a brain tumor I would have other symptoms to go with the nausea. I made an eye doctor's appointment for today. I was thinking that maybe I was having problems in that area. I know some people don't realize that they have a sight problem until they go to the doctor. So I am hoping maybe this is the answer. I realize i have anxiety, but the nausea shows up when I do not feel stressed at all.

You have had every medical test that I have had. Wow! I feel better knowing I am not alone. I can not give you a medical answer but I tell you what If you have had all those tests and everything looks normal I can guarantee it is from the anxiety or new meds?
Hang in there!!!
