Irrational fears?

I'm not sure if I have anxiety, hypochondria, or OCD. I severely obsess over my health. I go to doctors a lot and worry about touching things that may have HIV on it. My new concern is the nurse that gave me a shot today didn't wear gloves and I'm so terrified over this that I can barely function. Do I have OCD? I am seeing a psychiatrist but hasn't been long enough. What makes me have such irrational fears?

hi, has anyone taken meds called propranolol (beta blockers) 4 anxiety? as i waz prescribed them today by my doc,  jus wonderin anyone had any bad experiences?

As a nurse I can tell you that the chances of you contracting something just due to the fact that she did not wear gloves is next to impossible. The needle itself that entered your body I am assuming was sterile so you are ok. You should continue to see your shrink. I have the same problems with excessive worrying and it interfers with my life as well. Just keep getting help.

Seems to be a common issue on this board I noticed-people worrying excessively about their health. Seems to go hand in hand with anxiety disorders, ocd, etc. I am going through it right now because I am not feeling well. I research the internet for hours and have been thinking about going to the er to get an mri. It's just crazy how we worry-at least your not alone. Everyday there is a topic about someone that worries about their health. I guess the best you can do is get checked out but your symptoms definitely seem like ocd/anxiety. You have to find the original source of your fear and deal with it-easier said then done I know or otherwise I wouldn't be suffering from it as well for the last 14 years.
