Is it Anxiety

Caertain Medications I take makes me have a panic attack. Is it me or the Medicine? My doctor thinks its just me and ignores it. Some Medications are fine for me Just a upset stomach thats all....some makes me have a ful blown panic attack. I never in my life had a panic attack until I taken the antibiotic Bactrim made me have one thought i was dieing. Avelox did the same but I controled it until it went away. I am 22 and in good health.

Certain meds can certainly aggravate anxiety.  There is one script for urinary tract infections...don't recall name...that definitely had me in a high state of anxiety ...Many antidepressants do this as well as cold meds...decongestants..etc.

Ask your doctor if you could subsitute another antibiotic for what you are taking...most will cause gastric distress.....but not anxiety..

I'm not sure who or what it is but I am the same way. I had a bad anxiety attack while I was on entex. I used to feel the same way with my muscle relaxers, but I think I was causing them at the time!!

I'm not sure if antibiotics cause panic attacks. Do you ever have them when not on antibiotics?
