Is it only Anxiety?

by chico180, Nov 08, 2009 08:02PM
I am only 18 years old and I wish I would not have feelings like this, I start to worry alot when I am home alone. I worry about everything and anything but the worst thing is when I am not feeling good. I will begin to look up possible sicknesses |I have then all these symptoms start to appear and They feel so real... A few years ago I was in and out of emergency 2 or three times over summer holidays for numerous reasons that all come back negative. Thats when my doctor said I may have a slight anxiety problem.

I have not even thought about that until a few weeks ago when I started freaking out about swine flu. Yesterday I went to the doctor because I didn't not want to die from it and he said I have a sinus infection which did make scene with my symptoms and he put me on penicillin...

but I could not sleep last night because my chest hurt... on my left side it was a burning tingling sensation and it went down my arm and into my back and I felt really nauseous from it... is that from my anxiety, from the penicillin or am I really in trouble...?

Hello there,

I'm sorry to hear you are suffering from anxiety and i let you know that we are all here to support you.

Anxiety can manifest itself into many physical symptoms including the symptoms you mentioned. But maybe indeed the penicillin can have something to do with it. Common adverse drug reactions in more or less 1% of people associated with use of the penicillins include diarrhea, hypersensitivity, nausea, rash and some more. Also you could be allergic to the drug. Common allergic reactions to penicillin include rashes, hives, itchy eyes, and swollen lips, tongue, or face.

If you think you can rule out allergy and adverse effect then i think it's anxiety related.

Best regards,
M4

Hi,

I think u might be a hypocondriac, i also freak and worry about everything and make myself feel ways that arent true. I think what heppened with ur arm and chest was a panic attack. Try to relax and think about good things, when ur mind starts to wander tell ur self to shut up! lol seriously its what i have to do...

Hope u feel better
