Is self esteem related to social anxiety?

The two go hand in hand.  There is a inverse correlation between the amount of self esteem and social anxiety.  I know this from experience.  I have been in situations where I feel very confident about myself and feel no social anxiety.  It is because I completely accept myself, at that moment, no matter what.  EFT for example and other techniques (BE SET FREE FAST) have been very helpful, but the often do not get to the root of the cause, unless you are guided by a coach in this field.  Those who have been through it and have used techniques that have worked are the best people to work with.  I also have been in situations, where I had no problem talking in groups, but when it came to reading out loud, I would stumble through it.  It would be so obvious that others would offer to read it for me.  But if I accepted myself no matter what, I continued.  The thing if I want to lessen social anxiety, I have to practice as much as possible by joining ToastMasters or some other self help group where you can practice.  EFT works as well, just before.  Bottom line is, no medication can give you self esteem and it it does, like say Narcotics, it is a shortcut and there are consequences to it.  Like side effects and dependency.  I wish I had more to add.  I am staring a website devoted to this question, when I have the domain name, I'll post it here.  Not for any other reason then to share my research, which is always backed up with references.
