Is something wrong with me?

Hello. I've been in a depression for the past 2 years now but it's only gotten worse. Lately, I feel like I'm going crazy. I worry about things to much and sometimes the littlest things make me want to rip my hair out. I can't sit still doing school, either my leg is like shaking or I'm playing with my pencil, and I can't concintrate doing school no matter how hard I try to. Sometimes when I think about something, I worry to much and my whole body and breathing gets shaky. Sometimes I'll have random break downs and I don't know why. Also, there's times when I'm perfectly fine and happy and the next second I'm either pissed off because of nothing or depressed and upset, because of nothing. That doesn't happen much because I'm barely ever happy. I already know I'm depressed but I feel like something else is wrong with me. Like anxiety or something?

In my experience anxiety and depression can definitely go hand in hand.  First of all, there is nothing wrong with you...millions of people have gone through what you are going through, so keep your head up and be proud that you are seeking help and understanding with this.   Second, you can and will get through this even though it may seem very challenging right now. As you get older, you will see that it is the hard challenges we face in life that will shape you and make you a better person.

Ok, off of my soapbox.  Have you ever gotten help for this or discussed this with anyone (parents, friends, etc)?  If not, do you have a counselor at school that can help you or point you in the right direction.  Have you talked to your parents about this and expressed to them your concerns?  I only say this  because, so many of us try to deal with this alone which puts us through more trouble than it is worth in my opinion.  

For me,the most important step that I took was to go see a therapist about it.  We tend to get frustrated and fear what we don't know much about.  By learning about how these feelings can come about it enables you to work through it.  Please feel free to ask as many questions as you like!

I think that it must be anxiety, probably from all of the negative emotions you have. I get that all the time, and it's very hard to control, I actually hit myself when i feel this way to try to punish myself. When i get angry i yell and then when i come down from being irritated i feel bad. And with anxiety and depression it's probably best to see a therapist and maybe take medication to help. Anxiety makes you shaky and feel weird sometimes have weird thoughts, depression probably is what is breaking you down, and then the anxiety comes in. I hope that you start to feel better .
