You can get palpiatations at any age. My aunt and all my cousins have it and they are pretty much your age! Don't worry about it.
You've been to the doctors right? Cardiologist? If you have and they say you are fine then you are. Maybe you're just being paranoidParanoid personality disorder Paranoid schizophrenia Schizophrenia - paranoid type and that's whats scaring you and making you think something is always wrong. Believe me I know what thats like. You just gotta learn to be positive, and calm.
Hi im 19 and i have been experiencing the same thing since i was 15. Im glad to see that someone else has them at a young age, makes me feel more at ease. I have suffered with anxiety since i was 15 i fel pregnant and had a miscarriage and thats when these funny beats started. I think i have ectopicEctopic pregnancy beats, what happens is the heart doesnt actually miss a beat but 1 beat is sooner than normalNormal saline flush which is why u get a pause and then a thud. The thud is just your heart pumping more blood in one beat to catch up. Well at least thats kinda what happens. And yes a lot of people get them when there relaxing i get them in bed. Anyways im now 19 weeks pregnant and have them very regularly at the moment, it scares the hell out of me. The fast beats are from you panicking or possibly over breathing. If you look through the heart forums you will see lots of people experiencing the same thing. If you have not yet had any test done i suggest you get a 24hr ecg and echocardiogram that will put you at ease. From reading your story i think its due to years of worry ie your sister, you probably dont think your worrying or that your anxious but deep down you probably are. Hope you can overcome this soon, running out of space xx
I developed palpitations at 13. I was scared for a long time and didn't tell my mom. When I was 20 I was having palps so bad I went to the doc immediately and he caught them on the ekg and told me they were harmless. THough they don't feel harmless. I have had many docs tell me they are harmless but the panic from them drives me so crazy that I take meds. Hang in there, I am 33 now so I have had them 20 years and haven't keeled over yet. Don't let them take over your life.
I know it is hard to believe that anxiety can cause your heart to feel so weird. It can do terrible things to a person. I started having weird heart feelings when I was about 19yrs. My anxiety issues started a few years before that. I would really suggest talking to your mom or dad about seeing a therapist. It sounds like you still have not gotten over the death of your sister. That was a tragic loss for you, and maybe you feel that because she died so young, you could too. You need to start figuring out the root cause for your anxiety, before it completely takes over your life. You CAN beat this thing. You just have to be strong and admit you need to work on it. I just made an appointment to see a therapist on Monday. I have had anxiety for about 10yrs or so now. I am just now willing to stand up and take charge of my life. Everyone has a right to be happy. I would also go to the doctors and ask to have the EKG or an echocardiogram just to rule anything out. This might help you realize it is anxiety. I went through all of it, like many others on this site. Best of luck and keep us posted!!!
I have had problems with anxiety for about 2 years now and I have had panic attacks and so called palapatitions and believe me this is no walk in the park I am still not convinced it is harmless I cannot believe that something as weird as this is nothing to worry about, but who am I to say I'm not a doctor. So the fact of the matter is you could have strange things happen to you and sometimes it's the mental things in your brain that causes this even though you don't think it is, The brain is a powerfull tool and it can make you and even break you that is a true fact I don't care what anybody says to counter that anyway think has positive as you can god speed.

Also, im sorry bout your sister.
