Is this anxiety, or panic attack?

Ok, so not very often, but occasionally. Like especially around the time of my period. If my house is a mess, (which it usually is, I have 3 kids) I can get out of bed or walk in the door and as soon as i see the living room and its a mess, my heart will start pounding and i get shaking and almost feel like something really heavy is lying on my chest.
And also, My husband drives a truck for sarah lee, he just delievers to the local grocery stores around town. Never know exactly what time he should be home from work, but usually by 5 pm. I get so scared when he is not home, Im almost in tears by the time he walks in the door. I worry about him getting robbed in a store or in his truck, I worry about him having a wreck. Im scared constantly when my kids are outside. Afraid that my youngest will walk in the woods and get lost. Is this just normal everyday fears for everyone? Or is this a problem?

I say you have some anixety. and some extra worry. Just try and calm down & dont let the little things get 2 you or dont do the WHAT IF's, WHAT IF this, WHAT IF THAT. it will just make you worse.

try calming down, maybe down deep breathing or a nice bubble bath and if you feel like this gets worse or out of hand id go see a perfessioal. best wishes & good luck :)

Definitely sounds like my worries too.  I'm used to the messy house part though!  ;-)  Seriously though, while a clean house will help you relax a bit, do as much else as you can to relax yourself.  If your hubby has a cell phone, ask him to call you to check in at certain times, or call him.  If he doesn't have one, get him one!  That way he can call for help if he finds someone else hurt, or has a flat.  I do the what if thing too, and it's hard to stop.  I have to distract myself, do something engaging to my brain.    I heard someone define those as Obsessive Scary Thoughts.  I shortened that to "O-S-T", and whenever I had one flit through my mind, I'd tag it with the "O-S-T" label and tell myself to "S-T-O-P" (Scary Thought, Obsessive Process).  I pictured the letters appearing on my forehead, and lessening the stress each time, so that by the time I spelled the word, I was thinking about something else, or at least had told myself to do something else with my mind.  Awareness of the thoughts is the first step to helping yourself redirect your thoughts when they come up.  They'll still come up now and again, but I can let them go more easily when I categorize them and move on.  Best of luck to you in your work with this!

The cleaning bit sounds to me like an adrenlin rush caused by anxiety.  The feeling the same as when you nearly have a  car crash or one of your kids nearly have an accident.  The other thing about your hubby, I used to get all the time not about hubby so much about kids.  Went to see the doc.  He said that all mums think like this, but these thoughts should be at the back of your head this thought and not at the front.  He told me to pick it up and put it in the back.  So funny I know but that is what I do, it does not stop it but makes it a bit easier.  One of my kids being late home is like a super laxative.  Anyway I dont think they are panic attacks.  Anxiety yes.  I do not any longer take medication though I did once for 2 years.  I now just understand it and it goes as fast as it comes and I don't worry what up with me.

To HottKyChick,
Have you tried past life therapy? Is sounds like alot of your fears are past life related. Try to find a registered hypnotherapist in your area and then give it a try.
