Klonopin/and alcohol--blackout or early dementia

This was really scary...I take .5mg of Klonopin maybe every 14 days or so for anxiety, 20 mg of Celexa daily and occassionally have some wine, I never thought twice  about not drinking on Klonopin as I take it so infrequently for panic. I got invited for dinner at a restaurant with friends, had a great time, had two glasses of wine and took my Klonopin about an hour before ( very panicky day)
Last evening, I was in another restaurant and a man came to me and said hello, calling me by my name. I have no recollection of him and I faked it like I knew him. The only whisper of recognition is when he mentioned his work, and I vaguely remember hearing that.
Can Klonopin and alcohol cause blackouts, or could I be having early alzheimers symptoms( my biggest fear in life) Has anyone had memory loss with the mixture. I am 64 by the way.

   Yes Klonopin can interact with alcohol so its best to avoid alcohol. If you have further concerns about what might have happened during this episode discuss this them with your psychiatrist as well.
