Klonopin or Valium?

Hi Everyone,
I have a question. I am currently on .5mg of Valium 2 times a day. Just started back on Valium after several Months of no Meds and it seems to be working OK.
I have heard alot of good things about Klonopin in this forum and I'm thinking of switching too .25mg of Klonopin twice daily.
I know each Med has it drawbacks but I want something that will stay with me for a long period of time and has the least sideeffects or problems if  I take in the long term.
I also heard about Valium entering your head quickly and helping for about 6 hours and then leaving, I really don't understand about plasma and where the Valium settles for its long half life, if that makes sensed. Does it make you fat?
Basically which one do you guys think is the best and maybe what it does to the body? Thanks

This is great info, I will stay on the Valium. I have Generalized Anxiety and will continue with my 2 dose 5mgs a day. Thanks a Million....

Thanks again Ryan, I hope you'll get this question without starting another post.
My sister currently takes 2 pills of .5 mg of Ativan and has been for the past 2 years. She takes them at the same time of day at about 11am. I was telling her about Klonopin since she has Anxiety and has panic attacks in certain situations like driving a car. I told her Klonopin was better for long term use and after a certain time she would not get the rollercoaster effect she has with Ativan. She is very interested in talking with her Doctor and possibly starting Klonopin.
Is there any advise you can give towards this on how she should transition over to the Klonopin and the dosage she should start on? Should she mix the two meds together for a period of time? Any info would be great on this. Thanks again
