Leg Cramps

I was wondering what everyone thought about leg cramps. I have been noticing that after I have menstrual cramps that my left leg (always the left one) tends to cramp up pretty bad. From the calf all the way up. I have a terrible fear of hypokalemia.... I have had my levels checked and I dont have any diseases, take diuretics or have any eating disorder... but I still cant stop from worrying. Does anyone get leg cramps like this? Could it be anxiety? Or menstrual related? Or should I get my potassium checked again?

I get bad cramps.  I find after a while they move into my thighs (so i guess this above the knee?)  

I have also had hypokalemia (this is low potasium right?) where i had to go to the hosptial by ambulance and be admitted and on a potasium drip and pills for the night.

totally different. trust me.  Hypokalemia, your arms and legs shake bad, and you continually have to urinate (large amounts) and your hear races... i couldn't stand up or do anything except wait for the ambualance.  I had tachycardia (heart rate at 160).  It was quite urgent and scary for me.

I am not prone to anxiety, but what happened was someone slipped something in my drink and i guess my body freaked out about it because i didn't know what was happening to me.
