Levaquin side effects had to go to ER.

About 2 hrs after i took Levaquin i was rushed to the ER with my whole left arm hurting and so weak through my whole body specially my arm, along with my blood pressure at 149/100. and my pulse at 119. I thought i was going to pass out, I was so nervous i was shaking all over. I had tests for heart attack stroke and brain scan which all came back normal so i know that it had to be the Levaquin which this was the first time i ever took it. My father in law was going 180 miles per hour to ER. I never ever want to go through that again. Has anybody else had this kind of symptoms after taking first dose of Levaquin?

yes i can tell you i will never take levaquin again either , i have took the 500 lots of times but i took the 750 and 4 hours after i took it , my body went crazy i was having panic attacks one after another and could not sleep for 24 hours until it got out of my body, if you google this drug you will see so many who have had problems with it , its not a good drug but i took many times for a uti, no more for me, the 750 was way to much and now i will not take the 500 after that, yes i belive it was just the drug , never take again, i take cipro now which is in the same family but never had a problem with it YET. drinks lots water flush it out what the dr told me.

Hopefully someone else will come on with more information than I have about Levaquin, but what it sounds like to me is that you had or have, a hypersensitive reaction to it. I am NOT a doctor, so that is just a guess on my part. What did the ER docs say? That all your tests came back normal should be very reassuring to you, but I know how frightened you must have been! I trust you have been back to the prescribing doctor and told him/her what you went through! I would certainly advise not taking any more until you've seen your doctor.
