I just started taking 10 mg of lexapro a day and I was wondering If I can drink while on this stuff. I now that I can't take the medication with Alcohol but what if i take it in the morning and drink a few beers at night. I also know that alcohol is a despressant and might make me worse but therpay has been paying off for me. I was going to take lexapro for a month then have a few beers at night. Is this totally a bad Idea or is it recommended not to mix the alcohol. I not big drinker I just wonder cause from time to time I like a nice foamy pop to drink.
It is recommended by the manufacturer that you abstain from alcohol completely because it can increase the side effects of the Lexapro, thereby causing the potential to develop unwanted side effects and/or additional side effects.
If you're only going to be taking it for a month, I'd just quit for the month and let it go at that.
