Lexapro vs Effexor

by dobiqueenx2, Sep 24, 2007 10:09AM
I had been on Effexor for about a month or so and was up to 75mg. Decided to try, after speaking with my Dr., to go back down to 37.5mg as I felt better on that doseage. Well, she just switched me to Lexapro 10mg last Friday as she wanted to try one more medication. Well, it's OK but I still think that the 37.5mg Effexor was working better for me. She gave me a prescription for a beta blocker as I mentioned taking that with the Effexor; but she wanted me to try Lexapro first. My question is if the lower dosage of Effexor worked better for me, do you think I should maybe talk to the Dr about going to 20mg of Lexapro? Does anyone out there take the beta blocker WITH one of these meds? Would love to know other's results to this....
