I am currently on Lexapro and have had great results. I started off trying Zoloft but had unfavorable side effects. I haven't really had any side effects on Lexapro and it has helped me a great deal. I did have to up my dose after about 4 weeks but I have severe anxiety so you may be fine on a lower dose.
Best of luck :)
I just switched from lexapro to zoloft and the transition went smoothly. Lexapro is a great drug, after the first 5 or 6 weeks it starts to kick in and you should start feeling better but give it time. It takes most SSRI's anywhere from 4 to 10 weeks to start working completely. The reason I switched was cost and the fact that sertraline works better for me. Lexapro is a refined version of celexa basically from what I understand.
I've taken Lexapro for several years with excellent results. Keep in mind that we all react differently with these types of medications and it is often trial and error as to what will work best for us. Always work closely with your doctor on your meds and never stop them abruptly. You won't know if it will work unless you try it, so give it a try and keep in mind that it can take 4-6 weeks to get the full benefit of these types of medications. It has been very helpful for me. Take care.....
