Lexapro

Ok, so I am on 4 1/5 weeks of 20 mg lexapro, it seems to work a little but not great, still having anxiety. DO I give it more time, add to it or try something different? I started it back the end of March. It is not the wonder drug that zoloft was but wondering if in time it could be??

I am doing better,,but not where I want to be, I do have xanex but very rarely take it, I try to work through it and I do fine, I think I am telling myself i want to be were I was last year on the zoloft- where I never worried if I had xanex with me or not, could hop on a plane or in my car and go somewhere(long distance) by myself etc, things like that!!

Thought you were doing better? Taking any anti-anxiety meds with it?

I'm not sure what the max is but if that is the max and you are still having trouble, I would personally give it a few more weeks and then probably try something that works better. It's important though that therapy takes place along with the medication to at least try to get to the cause of the anxiety.

The Zoloft quit working for me last september, I tired lots of different meds but never gave any of them long enough to work until this lexapro. I thought 20mg was the max dose for lexapro?

If Zoloft was working why go onto lexapro ? After one month I would think that would be enough time. Dosage may need to be tweaked.
