That's what we've been told! I have been on for 6 weeks, but have not seen any real weight change that i can attribute to the pill.  It is getting to be wintertime, i've been eating more and exercising less, so i think that's what it is.  But everyone is different...

I've been taking it a month and have not seen any weight gain. Everyone is different though.
I feel so much better. I feel like the success story!

I take it too and never noticed any weight gain. I know it can make you lose a bit of weight from the early side effects from getting used to it. But Ive never gained any after I got used to it. Eating did come easier! Im sure it can cause you to gain weight but that doesn't mean it will.

Definitely no weight gain for me. A lot of the wait gain just has to deal with people eatting more because you tend to eat less when you are depressed or anxious. Just be concious of your eating habits when you start to feel better, and you shouldnt have anything to worry about.

I took the generic form of celexa for quite some time (over a year) and i gained about 50 pounds!!!! I'm the heaviest I've ever been and it's depressing.

While on the meds, I went from eating mcd's for breakfast, lunch and dinner with a blizzard to eating less than 1100 calories per day (lots of fruits and veggies) with vitamins and daily gym routines (5d/w @ 30-45m at a time). I did this new life style for about 3 months and i GAINED weight!!! I should've easily lost 5 pounds per month even without the exercising, but instead I gained around 5 pounds per month!!!

So with doc's guidance I went from 40mg/d to nothing. For about the first 2-3 weeks or so (after having been completely off), I got that dizziness type feeling and would "see" things that could be there but weren't. The dizziness factor has since dissipated and that part is great, but i really hate crying at commercials and anything else that is touching.

I really feel like I need to get back on them, maybe a lower dose, but I don't think I can handle the weight gaining. i'm a single mom who wants a romantic life, but I'm not gonna get one being this big or this sad.  it's kind of a catch 22, isn't it??
