LifeSpan of GAD Patients

I have had GAD, CEBV, Fibromyalgia since my lat 20's, I am now 45 and my symptoms and pain
are becoming worst. I am now wondering what the long term affects are of feeling this way for so long? Also
will my lifespan be shortened.

Thank you,
Paul

thank yo for your feedback. I have been off of SSRI's for all most 1 year. I weened off slowly and still had terrible nausea and pain in the process. The reason I came off of the Paxil is that I read that the SSRI's only help about 15% of patients with GAD, social phobias etc. I occassionaly take alprazolam when i feel the flight response.

The only thing I read in somewhere was that GAD sufferers take fewer risks, so could in fact live longer provided they have a healthy lifestyle.

Very interested in your theory.  Do you have references/journal articles, et al to back that up?  If so, please pass them on for my reading pleasure.

Thanks in advance.

Do you really want to know the answer to that question?

My understanding is that there is a theory that people on SSRI's will live longer (they haven't been around long enough to see for sure) as they reduce all that flight and fright stuff that is wearying for anyone.

Sorry to hear about your ongoing pain.
