Long Term effects on your body after Paxil

Long Term effects on your body after Paxil

I have been on Paxil twice. The first time was when I was going through a difficult divorce. Doc talked me into trying Paxil so that I could handle the anxiety. I did take it for over a year and then, after 3 or 4 visits, convinced my doc to wean me off of the drug. I thought that I was doing alright, but didn't realize all the side effects that I was feeling and going through. In Jan, 2011, my 21 month old grandson, Trystyn, passed away. I was devestated, expecially since I was the one raising him most of the time. My daughter,( his mother), then disappeared on me and left my other two grandchildren behined. I was at work and just had a major mental breakdown.
After researching, I now beleive that he breakdown was an aftermath from the drug paxil.
I went back on the drug in May 2011. My insurance ran out in June, so now my doctor will not refill my prescription because I do not have the money to go to a doc visit. So, I am on my 7th or 8th day of cold turkey. I had to go to the hospital on Monday with a bloodpressure reading of 189 over ???(can't remember). I have always read 120/80.
Anyway, I was sent home with some Ativan and meclizine and told to follow up with my doctor in three days to be referred to a cardioligist because I am showing an abnormal inverstion on my EKG. They gave me no paxil, said that they couldn't becasue of the law. I then called my doc back, hoping he would fill one more presc. til i could find a doc that accepted medical...no luck! Had is back office nurse(wife) call me back to tell me to try another doctor.
My biggest concern is ....If I make it through the cold turkey process, are there any damaging effects that can happen to my body at a later date...ie:  heart problems, liver problems, phycotic breakdowns, etc.? I have read a few articles and would like to know what the truth about paxil is?

I've tried going off Zoloft 3 x now.Always end up right back on it. I was told before by a doctor if you have tried going off more than 2 x then you probably will need it the rest of your life.
If you felt better while on it,then I say stay on it.
Maybe your doctor can give you samples of Paxil for awhile. He really needs to work with you.Good Luck!
