I have been on PaxilPaxil Paxil cr for over 6 years. Almost off of it and then went back up in dose only to have it not work for me. Started having weird side effects at 40mgs and started tapering down to get off it. Down to 7.5mgs after many months of hell! I have one Dr who wants me to take KlonopinKlonopin Klonopin wafer and add lexapro to my paxilPaxil Paxil cr, titrating one up and one down till I am off PaxilPaxil Paxil cr.
I went to another Dr who came recommended to me, and she wants me to also take KlonopinKlonopin Klonopin wafer and start taking Prozac while tapering off Paxil. I am scared to do either. I finally went ahead and tried the Klonopin (.25) but have only taken it in the morning and twice a day as prescribed as I don't want to be addicited or a zombie.
My biggest issue has always been anxiety, although now that OCD has picked up, I have that too along with some depression (loosing interest in things that once gave me pleasure).
So I know I need to take one or the other but I am scared and making myself worse by reading everything I can find on both Prozac and Lexapro. I know one is newer and one is older.....
My advice is DONT TAKE PROZAC. OMG it was horrible its the medicine from HELL. Stay on 20 mgs of paxil im fine on that and I take ativan. I am very calm and sleep good. Prozac is an upper it races your heart and well its like your on speed. My advice stay as far away from it as you can.
I have read that Prozac is more for depression....but I think the Dr was going to put me on it cuz it is easier to get off of?
UGH
So perhaps I should try the Lexapro? Paxil is done for me, no longer works and gives me bad side effects. If I could I would get off Paxil and just take Klonopin, but I am not sure that is a good plan either.
