I used to post on this forum but have not for a few months, I was feeling better and really focusing on healing. The past couple of weeks  Ihave been feeling really awful, run down, weak spells, dizzy, tired, heavy head, crying spells, irritibility, naseaus, just plain like ****! I don't know if I should get checked or what?? My doctor listened to my heart/lungs, etc and that was all fine but I am worried I have some disorder that I should get a blood test. Can anyone relate?

Blood tests are normally step one to rule out certain things. I think the sad side of things is once you have a history of anxiety or depression and things likes that, doctors don't tend to jump fast enough at any serious requests made. they will place the illness back as anxiety. Worst part about having a history of mental illness. But I'm sure your own doctor would allow blood tests. He wouldn't refuse to send you for some. probably at the back of his own mind thinking he knows what the answer is already. They can be smug at times. But a lot of the time they are right. Tests come back negative. But request your blood tests and see how it all goes. Best of luck to you. Keep us posted.

hi jess, a blood test certainly wouldnt hurt.  mrgreen makes a good point about some doctor's putting it off as anxiety when they know your history.  i've been fortunate to come across some doctors who are really empathetic and go above and beyond.  it's good to hear that your doctor's recent check up didnt show anything wrong though.  with tests and narrowing down possiblities then it gets a bit easier to start dispelling any unrealistic thought that may pop up.

i've had the anxiety problem off and on for about 18 years.   during its lull, i can pretty much do anything that i thought i'd never be able to do when the anxiety was imminent.  its really frustrating when it comes back because i recognize it immediately and think oh no, not again  :(

but the good news is that you've had success in fighting it off before and that certainly should be encouraging that you can do it again.  each time my anxiety pops its head again, i feel i have an advantage over previous times because i know i'm not going to freak out and run screaming down main street usa.  i've yet to do that but oddly enough, i still have to remind myself that i won't.  if i do though, i'll be sure to get pictures so i can post them here and we can all have a good laugh  :)
