MEDICATIONS

by MARIA43, Oct 16, 2007 06:02PM
I HAVE BEEN TAKING KLONIPIN FOR 3 YEARS NOW AND I WOULD LIKE TO STOP TAKING THIS MEDICATION.  I WAS TOLD I WOULD HAVE SOME WITHDRAWL IF I DO THIS COLD TURKEY.  I HAVE BEEN SUFFERING FROM PANIC AND ANEXITY DISORDER FOR 20 YEARS AND I ALWAYS HAD IT UNDER CONTROL UNDER A RECENT DIVORCE AND A HYSTERECTOMY IN WHICH I TRIED TO HAVE CHILDREN FOR EIGHT YEARS AND COULD NEVER GO TO FULL TERM.  I HAVE BEEN THROUGH ALOT THE PAST 3 YEARS AS WELL AS MANY OF YOU, AND I AM NOT COMPLAINING,I WOULD JUST LIKE TO KNOW IF THERE IS A MEDICATION OUT THERE TO HELP PEOPLE LIKE MYSELF OR WOULD YOU RECOMMEND TALKING TO PROFESSIONALS.  IT IS SO EASY TO JUST TAKE A PILL AND HAVE THE FEELINGS ALL GO AWAY,BUT THAT CANNOT BE GOOD FOR YOUR BODY.  I GET THE TIGHTNESS IN MY CHEST,THE BURNING SENSATION IN MY THROAT,AND I DO NOT SLEEP MUCH AT ALL.  I FEEL LIKE I AM OUT OF CONTROL OF MYSELF AND I WAS NEVER LIKE THIS BEFORE.  I AM 43 AND THESE SHOULD BE THE BEST YEARS OF YOUR LIFE, BUT I SPEND ALOT OF MY DAYS JUST FEELING USELESS.  IF I COULD HAVE SOME SUGGESTIONS PLEASE, I WOULD APPRECIATE IT.  I HAVE NEVER WRITTEN TO ONE OF THESE BEFORE, I WOULD ALWAYS READ THEM AND I KNEW I WASNT ALONE.  BUT IT REALLY IS A LONELY FEELING SOMETIMES, ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU HAVE PEOPLE THAT IT IS ALL IN YOUR HEAD.  THANKS FOR YOUR INPUT    MARIA

Hi and welcome.  I wish I had an answer for you...but I dont.  All I can tell you is to do the best you can....nobody can ask more than that.  I find that when I put pressure on myself my anxiety goes through the roof and I also notice my entire body hurts... especially my feet and knees.

I also notice that when I am relaxed my pain seems to go away.  I currently take a small dose of hydrocodone each day to treat the pain but I am now addicted to that stuff...but you do what you have to do.

I guess what I am trying to say is "what is the worst that can happen?"  Name it...lose your job, lose your car, bad credit, whatever it may be.  If the worst happens will you land on your feet?  YES!  Each and every time.  I have the boss from hell....like most people...and the past two months has been extremely demanding and bothersome.  Add to that my boss is young and does not know how to handle people...my anxiety was sky high.  In truth...I felt that if I did not get a handle on this anxiety it would kill me quite soon.  That is when I realized I had to say "WTF."  "If they fire me..so be it."

Try to relax..I know it is easier said than done..but you can do this.

I commend you for your cold turkey off the xanax.  How are you doing from that and how long were you on it?  I wanted to do cold turkey myself, but they said if I do I would have seizures and other problems.  How do you deal with your withdrawl, and is there anything you are taking for the withdrawl symptoms, like something natural.  They told me to try Melotin from the natural food store.  I dont know.  I woke up this mourning and I always have this terrible feeling that there is a big blob in my chest.  It is always tight.  It feels like I did 500 push ups or something.  I guess its just anexity.
Thanks for the reassurance and Good Luck to you.
