MY symptons are they related to Anxiety

I have been dealing with irritation in my Libia area , (just the inside of the Libia,"Lips" area) with sensativity and irratation , its so bad in the past I was able to apply KY gel, but now I can't even do that it just stings if ANYTHING is applied there , including vasealine. I was diagnoused with Peri-Menopause about 7 months ago, but just recently in DECEMBER 3RD 2009 , I had experienced with extream burning and itching , unbearable pain, as if I had my vagina was left ontop a stove and acid thrown on it. I had every test imaginable came back negative, I went to this one GYN she said it wasn't an Estrogen problem because I still had a uterus and periods, she was the 7th Doctor I had seen , I have examined by 6 other doctors that said everything looks perfectly normal , nothing unusual in or around my vulvu, vagina, No swelling, No redness, No blisters, sores, lessions etc... No unusal discharge, No urinary pain , or frequent Unraination , No odour, Nothing, No redness etc...Anyways this 7th Doctor I seen the female GYN told me that I looked perfectly healthy down there although I was just getting over my period at that visit, I had a cold sore that I just got on my face , so she suggested that I had a Herbies BLOOD test, they called me with the results saying Positive for Herbies 1 and Herbies 2 , been with the same man for 26 years , he turned out Negative, she had perscribed me Valtrex , that did no change at all. I got so stressed out over the entire situation since this started , especially when she told me I had Genatial Herbies, that I went for a second, third opion , all this was happening when I was on Vacation, so I flew back to my family Dr . after getting off the plane I ended up in emergency , they examined me down there and told me I DO NOT HAVE HERBIES, I seen my family DR the next morning He told me I do not have herbies and he had done blood work and evrything came back negative , and that he couldn't understand the sensativity around my Libiadia area , although on vacation I was  perscribed 5 different steriod creams , antibiotics orally and internally again all these Dr could notr figure out why I was in so much pain. My Family Dr sent me too a GYN and he just examined me and told me as simple as I needed to be on Estrogen ceam , Premarin , which is tricky for me because I had a  pelvic blood clot when Inwas 17 years old, and at 28 In had Conns sydrome, sroke, high blood pressure etc... and a Removal of my right Adrenal Gland , I am now 46 years old.
So right now I am using the premarin cream 2 times a week at 2grams, inside seems to be okay , but still sensative outside , except when I had my period the end of January ,I felt PERFECTLY fine as if nothing was ever wrong down there 100% perfect, but then after my period it started all over again , the singing on and around the Libia area , the DR told me to get sexually active again , it has been almost 2 months , so we tried again first with a condom , a little uncomfortable , but the stinging around my Libia cleared up for a day , but inside just a little sore , tried again without condom stinging around my Libia and sore again inside, my husband said I wasn't dry at all, so I am not sure if I should be usuing the Premarin Cream , as my family Dr told me I should ween off it , its been only 5 applications so far.And the Dr told me that if INcontinue to wait too long to have intercourse it will get to tight , so I am guessing thats  why its sore a bit, but I am confused why my Libia is stillo sensative and sometimes still itchy .Anyone have any similiar symptons. again NO yeast infection, No UTI infection , No STDS , and I am only PERI-MENOPAUSE , Not Menopause , do anyone have any off these symptons for Peri-Menopause, I have hot flashes , irrability , mood swings .Please respond if anyone has an answer , its everyday I have feeling like this , my Dr said my stress doesn't help my symptons , he feels that could be why I have the stinging , sometimes I get it on my thighs, my mouth, and around my butt, it doesn't last too long, one more sympton I am always tired, fatique, I had extreamly alot of energy ,my kids and friends couldn't even keep up with me , but now I just fall asleep anytime during the day , 2-3 naps a day 2 hours long at times. I never took naps before, I don't hardly get dressed to go anywhere. Cause I find when I go walking for an hour it flares up again ,the burning .

Now my question is this can all this be related to Anxiety, or stress , as my family Docto, did every test he could think off and all comes back negative, and he put me on Clonozopam for Anxiety, stress , I only take them at night, they are 0.5mg , sometimes I take 3-4 , in fear I will feel pain, I told my doctor I take them to make me sleep as I have insomminia and restless leg syndrome , so he told me if the clonozopam settles down the symptons he strongly believes its stress related because he said thats what the medication is originally for, I am confused , because I know I was feeling Anxiety and stress for a while but now I feel calm and the symptons are still coming back. Can you tell me if this could be still stress related? Thnaks

Mr. G is right about the way how anxiety can cause us to focus on one (or more) body symptoms and magnify them way out of proportion.

Good for you taking charge with a journal.  Many of us do this.  Also great that most of the symptoms  of anxiety have disappeared.  The morning shaking especially.  Hard to start off a day like that.  I know because I sometimes have same problem.

Since you have been tested thoroughly, try to relax.  I'm wondering if you might have an aging fear: lots of women do at your stage of life.  I've known a few who were so obsessed they went to great lengths to conquer menopause and pre-menopausal symptoms.

Here is the thing: you have  gotten what you need from doctor.  You do trust your gp.  So try to get on with things, less focus on itching, burning, etc. 'down there'.  There are few women who don't have discomfort at times: don't let it take over your life.  Enjoy your husband.  Good luck.

Hi Thanks for your response, I was expericing burning and tingling in my legs and my mouth, they have all disappeard , at that time I really started to believe it was my anxiety, but there are days the pain I have below is unbearable , I was taking coddine /tynol 3 for it, but it wasn't working, I also tried Novo-Napron , thats for pain and inflammation, sometimes I had to stay in bed for days as a result of pain . But , these symptons are only when I am not on my period, thats what I keep telling my doctor if its stress related then why am I am perfectly normal, no burning. no pain , or irriation when I am just about to start my period and while I am on it, what changes in my anxiety /stress if that the case, I only started to notice the changes since my doctor told me to start a journal , thats when I realized there was a pattern. Thats what I am confused about, I notice my chest pains had dissappeared , my periods started to become a bit more normal, the burning in my mouth, legs thighs are gone, tension and pressure in my head are gone, that tension that builds up in the shoulders when tense is gone, my shaking when I get up in the morning is gone, so I believe my anxiety has subsided , but I still have my biggest problem below.and like I said my doctor still says its anxiety , how is all my other symptons are gone but that , thats what I am cofused about.

I am no expert on vaginas. Let's make that clear from the off. But with anxiety you could be focusing more on the part of you that is hurting. Meaning that if you woke tomorrow and there was no pain at all, you would think that odd and look for the pain. That is how anxiety sufferers work. They can inward focus. Pick a part of the body and make all kinds of things happen to that part of their body. They have all these tests done. They come back negative. They are told it is just anxiety. They don't want to believe it. That anxiety can be doing all of this. That is a common story you will read here on the forum week in week out. Most we have heart complaints. People thinking they are having heart attacks. Back aches. Arse aches. You name it, we have heard it all. When all it was was just anxiety. Think it is time to accept the results. If they can't find anything at all wrong with you. No reason, other than anxiety, for your pain. Maybe if you accept it and get help for the anxiety and then see if there is any change at all. Am I reading your medication dosage right? You take 3 to 4 pills a night? That sort of medication needs a bit of time before it will start working anyway. It needs to build up in your system. It is not a fast acting benzo at all. As in it has no instant effect once it does build up. It is used to treat anxiety over a full day normally. Dosed out twice a day. But if you can get through the day without it then you are doing good. You making up for the amount at night time. Have you any other symptoms of common anxiety at all? Might help you get a better answer the more we know. About your anxiety. Not you vagina. That post was long enough and told us all what we needed to know. Let us know if you experience any other symptoms of anxiety. It seems like you get through the day alright. Apart from your pain. Keep us posted.
