Meds-Klonipin, Lexapro, and TRAUMA, My mom just died...HELP!

I have been on Lexapro (10mg) for the last year, and before that Paxil for 10 years. I have been in Klonipin (klonopin) (.5) for 10+. I suffer from very bad anxiety that manifests itself physically. Dizzyness, Head Rushes, Palpatations, Chest pain.

2 Weeks ago my mother passed away suddenly while we all were in Yosemite in her camping trailer. Cardiac arhthymia, she was 73. She also sufferen with hypotention.

Needless to say the last 2 weeks I have been a wreck. More than usual.Today i finally decided to get out of the house. I was out walking around for about a half hour, then it looked as if someone was turning out the lights. Everything went to a brownish red. Fllowed by a full blown panic blowout, Sweats, dizzy, shaky, like I was dying. ( I am 41, out of shape, overweight)

Went to the ER. was checked out and they think I may have had an episode of hypotension, (Odd as i am usually High, 140/90) or an ahrythmia! what killed my mom. Well this didn't help my panic attacks, as I explained to them that is exactly what my mom had. (Her Autopsy also showed severe coranary artery disease. We were very surprised by this!)

Help!.. Could this just be HUGE panic Attacks? Should i up my Klonopin? I just need to know what to do? What should i worry about?

I am so sorry about the loss of your sweet Mother, I know that has to be hard to handle , am sure you are really having lots of anxiety now, am sure the loss of her is bringing on more than you can handle, i still have my mom but in feb of this year she found out she had cancer so we went through the surgery and all. for 3 months i had the most worse anxiety i had every had, never had i been through it like that iam, nota anxiety person, so it was really bad. it took me 4 months to get through it and it was no fun, am over it now my mom is ok for now but i know what your going through will bring it on. try and take your meds and know your mom is in a better place, she lived to be 73 thats a great long life now a days. go to a cardio dr and have your heart checked out it will give you some peace and tell the cardio dr about what they found out about your moms heart . he can take it from there . yes panic attacks can cause many syntoms and will get worse if you dont calm down and get it under control. i wish you all the luck and have said a prayer for you .

I am also sorry about your mom.  I have lost my mom also and I know how difficult it is.  It can definitely be a full blown attack.  When my mom died, my doctor had to up my meds...BUT DO NOT DO THIS ON YOUR OWN!  I also feel you need to see a cardiologist.    You said your mom had coronary artery disease.  Your cardiologist can definitely run tests ( angiogram) to check your arteries to see how your blood flow is.  I don't mean to scare you. As I said, it may very well be just anxiety, but heart disease does run in families and it is better to be safe than sorry.  Best to you and keep us posted.  You are in my prayers.
