My life isn't as usual

My life isn't as usual

Hey guys, I'm right about to visit a dr. For my anxiety, but lately, I've been feeling very strange. I feel like I'm a whole different person, and the world isn't how I have known it for my life. This is very scary! I would really appreciate it if I could get some help!

Here is something I found on the internet:

Unlike depersonalization which effects the perception of oneself, derealization is a change in an individual's experience of their environment, where the world around him/her feels unreal and unfamiliar.

Again, derealization, like depersonalization, is caused by a change in the way senses perceive our surroundings due to sensitized, anxious, nerve signals reaching the brain. Derealization is completely harmless but can be very disturbing. The more you give derealization credibility, the longer it stays with you. As anxiety levels are reduced, derealization disappears.

Anxiety can bring this feeling on.  As it says, once anxiety levels are reduced, derealization disappears.  So that is why you need to get your anxiety in check.  Anxiety can be conscious and subconscious.  You might not think you are worrying or stressed about anything but it is there in the back of your mind and it rears its ugly head in the form of anxiety.

The doctor will put you on the right path to recovery and you WILL recover and be yourself again.  Keep your parents in the loop with how you are feeling.

When I first started dealing with anxiety that is kind of how I felt (if I am understanding you correctly).  It was almost like being in a dreamlike state and everything was different.  Is that what you mean by strange?  It was really odd for me too.  I got help and wound up on a combination of meds/therapy that worked really well for me.  It's good your going to see your Dr.  That is the first step.  And hopefully you have people in your life that are supportive as that helped me so much.  But there are also amazing folks here on MH and I know you will be hearing from more of them.  All the best to you!

I remember you posting before. You had the friend that was a bully right?.   I'm sorry that the anxiety has not gotten better and the derealization has kicked in but I'm very, very happy you are seeing a doctor.  This just shows that you have a wonderful family that you can talk to and who take your problems seriously.  Do not worry yourself about this.  Make sure you tell the doctor exactly how you are feeling along with al of the symptoms.  One or both of your parents will probably be in the room, so the doctor can give them some advice on how to help you as well and what possible next steps should be taken.  You are going to be just fine!

thanks guys, but i also have another thing to say. I've been acting a lot different than usual i feel like i am not myself and am someone else, I know it sounds really stupid, but this is also making me feel horrible, on top of all my other problems.
