It's more for depression than for anxiety. If your anxiety flows from depression it might help. The main side effect is some people get skin sensitivity to sunlight, but anyone can get atypical side effects from anything. The solution if you do is to stop taking it. What would be better for pure anxiety would be relaxants and amino acids more targeted for anxiety. A book by Hyla Cass, Natural Highs, can tell you a lot about what's available and how to dose.
