Neuro Appointment Tomorrow

by tarrigo, Dec 27, 2006 12:00AM
Hey All,

I have a neuro appointment tomorrow at the University of Pittsburgh. I have been posting here over the past few months as I am extremely worried about ALS. I had a clean EMG on November 9th, but am doubting that now.

The doctor I am seeing deals alot more with ALS than my previous neuro. I hope he can provide me with some peace of mind. Do you all think my EMG was done too early, considering my symptoms started back in September?

Thanks,

Tony

Any input on my situation?  Since I already have a clean EMG, does it sound like my symptoms are anxiety related?

I am so glad that you are going to the doctor tomorrow.  He will be able to help put your fears to rest.  Make a list of all your questions so you don't forget anything you want to ask.

I truly feel it is anxiety related, but that will do no good until you believe it.  AND THEN GET SOME HELP!  I know how difficult it is.  I have been there and I know the true fear that you are feeling.

Peace to you and God Bless.  Let us know how it turns out.

How did everything go today?  Please let us know.

Everything went great today!  The neurologist, who is probably one of the best around, did a full neuro exam, tested my reflexes, reviewed my past tests and said I do not have ALS.  He said that I probably have benign fasiculations (twitching).  He was a great doctor who listened to everything I had to say.  He made me feel alot better, but I just need to get this fear out of my mind.  I think this appointment helped, but I need to do some work myself, in order to get myself back to normal.

I just need to trust what the neuro said!

Glad everything went well.  If you don't mind me asking, what was his name/hospital?  congrats!!!

His name was Dr. Sanner.  He is a neurologist at the University of Pittsburgh.  He does clinical work and teaches at the university.

He was a great guy.
