Not a Fan of Lexapro Side Effects ... Buspar better?

I am 27 years old and have been on Lexapro which has greatly aided my awful anxiety that I have had for quite awhile. I finally got to the point that I realized I needed to be on medication. It has been wonderful and made daily activities as well as work much easier.
My biggest problem with the Lexapro is that apparently I am in the 6% of women who do not reach orgasm while taking it.  I have heard that Buspar is just as effective as Lexapro but that the libido is not affected and I will be able to reach orgasm as a normal 27 year old woman if I take Buspar. I am going in to see my physician this week and would greatly appreciate any insight.

I cannot speak for Buspar as I have not taken it before.  However, I take Wellbutrin which controls my OCD/anxiety, does not make me gain weight, and has not affected my sex life whatsoever.  So just another medication to give some thought to.  It is not an SSRI and I was skeptical as to whether it would work for me in the beginning but it has worked very well.

Hello, I am on Lexapro currently.  I am into three weeks, so still having the side effects.  I was given Buspar to add (due to continued/increased anxiety) or try alone if I wanted, but I am waiting till I see my Dr. tomorrow.  I didn't want to start a new med tho while having one so new, but if you do try it, I would really love to hear how it worked for you please.  It doesn't seem like many people here take it.  Take Care, Michelle
