Not sure what to think...

I have been on several different medications since I was 14, I am now 28. From anti anxiety, anti depressant and anti psychotics.  I have never been diagnosed with anything. I am now not taking any meds. I am twitching all the time, down to 94 lbs, nd having anxiety attacks all the time.  I am not sure if this is still withdrawal from my last medication (prisitq) or if it is just from not being on anything when I have been for so many years. My Dr. just throws pills at me, never listens to what I have to say or feel. Not sure what to do.

its definitely from you being on pills for all of those years. you sound exactly like me - i was on anti psychotics, anti depressants and anti anxiety meds from 14 through now - im 25. from lithium to Geodon to zoloft to seroquel to xanax to klonopin - i've tried and been on just about everything. They permanently mess up your brain - I would definitely talk to a doctor because you could be having very bad side effects from the years worth of damage caused to you. I know that I will eventually go through the same thing and im so scared. best of luck to you - im sorry I couldn't help more - but I can relate.

Severe anxiety can lead to sleeplessness, loss of appetite, sickness due to a weakened immune system, etc.  It does take a heavy toll on our bodies.  Your weight loss can also have a profound impact on your health as well.

You mentioned a doctor but you didn't specify if it was a GP or pdoc.  You said you have not been diagnosed with anything so I'm guessing it was a GP.  If it was a pdoc, then it is clear that you two never hit it off.  You need to feel comfortable with whoever you are seeing.  They need to listen to you, what you are going through, and help you through it.  Medication does not have to be the only answer.  CBT is very helpful and you can learn that from a pdoc that specializes in CBT.  I actually use both meds and CBT.  So again, if it was a GP, what you need is a psychologist and perhaps a psychiatrist to manage meds if you choose to go that route again.

You didn't mention how long you have been off the Pristiq and whether you tapered off of it or cold-turkey'd it.  Hopefully it was a taper.

Don't give up.  Find the right doctor for you and get back on the path to an anxiety free life.

Are you able to change doctors?  This would be my suggestion!  I don't know how tall you are, but 94 pounds is not much weight!  Having panic attacks is not fun....been there myself.  Have you tried any counseling?  Just a suggestion, but seems a new doctor and counseling would be helpful for you.  It's good to have someone you can talk freely with and receive helpful feedback.
