Panic Attack?

Panic Attack?

Today, before getting in the shower, something REALLY weird happened. It was almost like someone was screaming in my head. I didn't actually hear screaming, but it's like I felt it. It's like what you feel when someone's talking loud or yelling at you. I can't explain it well at all. I think the sound of the shower was reminding me of it or something. I was about to get it, but every inch of my body wanted me somewhere else other than in that cramped shower (it's a stall thing--not a full tub). Meanwhile, that screaming sensation was making me more and more nervous until I just had a full blown panic attack. I had to get out of the bathroom right then and there. As soon as I was out and in cooler air, I calmed down. Is this anything related to just a panic attack? I normally have triggers, but recently I've had one that came out of the blue and then this one. I'm so afraid I'm going crazy :/

Often panic attacks can be triggered by being in small areas and in a vulnerable state such as undressed and getting into the shower.  Don't worry you're not going crazy.  When we suffer with anxiety our panic attacks can come out of the blue or be caused by triggers.  If you're not seeing a specialist to address your anxiety I feel this would benefit you greatly as well as getting into therapy.  Panic attacks are very scary but won't hurt you, so do your best to relax.  Exercise, even just walking is good for anxiety as it helps to use up the extra adrenaline that accompanies anxiety.  Deep breathing exercises also help...take several slow deep breaths in thru your nose and slowly out of your mouth.  I hope this helps and you can get some relief.  Best wishes.
