Panic attack paxil?

Been a while since I posted on here, but having a bad panic attack and its day 12 of paxil I'm taking and the only side affect I have is no feeling in chest. The attack happened out of nowhere and I talked to my doctor yesterday about what's going on with paxil and ativan but still thinks I still need to take them for a few mores weeks but when I do get the attacks i feel that the Ativan is not doing anything, it's like a water pill I'm taking with no affect at all. I told the doctor all this explained it all to him but still thinks that I should be in it longer

I've told the doctor about the Ativan amd he told me that it should be working but said keep taking it or just take a pill and a half of the Ativan and call back in a few weeks

Have you been on other SSRI's in the past?

The Paxil, if it works, will work better than benzos because it will work all the time, not just for a short period.  It's not the drug I would have chosen, but now that you have, know that it hasn't kicked in yet.  But I question your doc about the Ativan -- if it doesn't work, he should change it to a different benzo if you really need to be on a benzo -- there's no sense taking such a difficult drug if it doesn't even work.  Some drugs just don't have an effect on us -- I had that happen with both Prozac and Zoloft -- so I was switched to different drugs.  Since benzos don't take time to kick in like antidepressants, I'd talk again to the doc, and if he doesn't listen, find another doc, because if you don't trust him now how are you going to trust him if the Paxil gives you trouble or doesn't work?  That's how I see it, anyway.

The good news is that you should be close to the point where the Paxil kicks in. Hang in there, Sean!
