Panick Attacks while eating

by yourangel23, Sep 05, 2009 04:12PM
Okay so I'm not sure what the heck happens to me when I sit down to eat but it's scary as heck! I begin to feel out of control, shaky, disoriented, & even my fine-motor skills are affected. I can't think straight & feel like I'm losing my mind! I REALLY feel like I'm going to pass out right there & everything around me feels insane. Like the lights, noise, etc. I get so scared of this that I can't go out to eat anymore unless I just sit & watch. It's really hard to not enjoy eating out or even going to a family dinner sometimes. I HATE the feeling of passing out which I have all the time but it's SOOOO much worse when I try & eat. Nobody can give me an answer on this. Ever.
Read "Fed up & Pissed"  in the Anxiety forum, you will get the rest of my life in a nutshell & see what my daily symptoms of anxiety are that rule my life... I'd ♥ your thoughts everyone... I feel so alone!

Anxiety can be a real pain in the you know what.  When I first went through this, I felt scared, confused, and alone.  I really believe that the vast majority of us initially feel as if we are in this alone, but what you are describing is 'classic' panic; although we all experience this differently there are many general characteristics that we pretty much all go through.

The good thing is you are definitely not alone in your experience and I believe the 'better' thing is the fact you will get through this and become a much more well rounded person for  this in my opinion, even though you do not see it now.

Do you have access to a counselor that you can talk to about this?  In my opinion, talk therapy is the most important step you can take in accepting, confronting and beating this.  Don't give up and always feel free to ask as many questions as you like here...keep us posted!
