Paxil and Welbutrin

I am 39 yrs old and have been taking paxil (40mg) for almost 16 years.  I feel like Paxil just isnt doing anything for me anymore and my dr suggested taking me off of it to try something else.  She wants me to go on Welbutrin while i wean off the the Paxil.  I am afraid of withdrawl (withdrawal) symptoms from the Paxil but at the same time Im tired of having panic attacks.  I have a 4yr old and a 10yr old and I have to work.  How am I suppose to wean off of this drug and start a new  drug when I have kids and a job?

The only thing I know is Welbutrin made me so hyper I didn't sleep the entire time I was on it. I'm not sure why they would give you that for anxiety. What about ativan taken at bedtime. Or buspar? I take one or the other and they both really help.  Ativan is supposedly very addictive so if you have addictive tendencies be very careful.  I would stay away from the welbutrin personally.  As for withdrawals if you trust your doctor he/she  should have you on something so you withdraw properly.
