Thank you for your input. I am definitely going to discuss this with my doctor. I don't want to make things worse by going off of it too quickly!! Thanks again, Mopey:)
Thanks, your advice helped a lot. I am still weaning off of it but I started it mainly for depression, not panic attacks. I have had panic attacks in the past but never this often or severe. I agree with you. I think I do need to go a bit slower. I will talk to my doc about it but I am sure that is most likely the problem. Thanks so much for taking the time to give me some advice and help me out. It really helps me. I tend to be a very private person but sharing these things with others who can relate really helps me :) Thanks again , Mopeybean :)
Two questions: are you still on it, which it seems you are since you say you're still weaning off, and are these symptoms new to you or are they the original symptoms that led to go on Paxil in the first place? Don't be frightened, but Paxil is probably the most problematic med to quit taking, with snris running second. The best way to see if this is the Paxil and not a relapse is to go back on the last dose at which you felt fine and if this feeling goes away, it's a withdrawal symptom and means you have to wean more slowly. Everyone has their own speed. And don't let the psychiatrist pooh pooh your concerns. If this is done slowly and with foreknowledge, you'll be fine. The real bad cases, like mine, are generally from clueless docs and psychiatrists who didn't inform their patients of withdrawal and didn't respond to it when it happened. You won't let this happen to you.
We have had many conversations about the importance of weaning slowly, with your doctor's help, when stopping an antidepressant.
Altho' I didn't have difficulty discontinuing this medication when it caused serious side effects several years ago, I know other members have reported it taking quite a while to completely get over withdrawal symptoms.
In my non-medical opinion you may want to restart the medication until you can talk to your doctor. Good luck.
