Paxil vs Xanax

I am currently taking 40 mg of Paxil and .05 mg of Xanax everyday, For the last tow weeks I stopped taking Paxil and felt great. I realized I went too fast so I and started taking half a pill. In the past, the Paxil made me feel stoned. Even on half a pill my feelings are num.
Do you think if my doctor says I can get of Paxil and increase my dosage of Xanax I will feel the same way?

Why would you want to discontinue Paxil and increase Xanax?
Paxil is indicated for long term use, while Xanax is not.  Do not increase Xanax - you risk developing a tolerance and it will likely become less and less effective.  I'd investigate an alternate SSRI rather than increase the benzo.  You'll regret it later if you rely on the X.

No doubt,, Skips right Mike,,the xanax is harder to quit particularly if you up your dose. The rebound from benzopines makes them very difficult to get away from , as where SSRI's can be tough, but the taper is usually shorter to get away from them when your ready. You will regret it as Skip said.

you should prob decrease the paxil and just take 20mg 1 time a day.......cux i felt the same way taking 40...i feel to lazy.
