Phychiatrist/ coping problems/ pain

Ok so I have run into the problem where my physciatrist was booked out till November 1st (when my klonopin will run out before that). I saw my physcian twice and she keeps telling me to go to the pych and barely gives me enough to last me to the appt. like she doesnt want to give out medicine or something to treat anxiety (even though I have been on this medicine for a couple years). But heres the the problem I just moved from San Diego back to Phoenix so I am considered a new patient so when I am going to my doctor thats why I am booked out so far (I was booked like a month ago). And I dont know about where you guys live but physchiatrists seem to ALWAYS be booked where Im out at least 2 weeks or more out especially for new patients, I dont know why. But anyways I have been having horrible anxiety and depression due to day to day life problems like boredom, girl friend problems, and an undiagnosed pain under my ribs and I really wanted to get in this week. Causing me to have a number of symptoms...Have you guys ever ran into this problem where you really need to get in and see that doctor to get help with medications/ or help in general and your doctors are booked out. I need some advice on coping with this situation.

Also can anxiety bring on a specific pain, like I have a gnawing pain underneath my left rib and I have gotten EVERY test done. Ive gotten :  Upper Endonoscopy, 2 cat scans, abdominal ultrasound, x rays, blood tests which have cost me a fortune and I have got no answers at all. I get spasms/ muscle twitches all around that area and it just bothers me all day making me concentrate on it constantly. When I take my klonopin the pain fades away a lot I dont know if that means anything but ya... Any advice?

Call your prescribing doctor in San Diego and explain your situation and ask him to call in enough to last you until you see your new doctor. Have the phone number of your local pharmacy ready to give to him.  This happens a lot and the docs know you need the medication and will usually do this for you.  When you see your new psychiatrist asked to be referred to a therapist to help you accept that you are healthy so you can ease a lot of your anxiety.
Hope this helps and take care.

Sometimes, even though you haven't seen the new doc, they will prescribe a previous script.  If you take the bottle to his office and leave it with the secretary and ask for an emergency refill prior to your appt., they may write the script.

I know what you mean about the difficulty getting appointments.  I live in the Valley in Arizona too.  I think both of the ideas lynn and mammo had were solid but a word of advice (and I JUST NOW figured this out), when you get that appt in November go ahead and make the next one and maybe even the one after that now, so you'll always be a couple of months ahead of the game.

Hey, ive been there too many times, if worse comes to worse and youy do run out of clonapin, therei s an urgent care in chandler on almacholl and chandlerblvd its just called urgent care, they are really good, just tell them your situation and they will right you out a cript for enough to get you through unbtil you see your psch.. Its bs you shouldnt have to go through it. But Ive been on clonapin for 10 years now and the withdrawls or even the fear of knowing you might run out is severly disturbing and can bring on major depression and anxiety. I might be wrong on the crossroad alma school, email me and if you are really needing this I will help you find the place. ***@****, yes mental illness is a b!@#....I have a hearing for ssi coming up in 17 days to get approved for disability cause I cannot work due to my mental disruptions.....if you ever need to talk hey your in arizona email me and we can talk....Sandy bye for now

Since you've had all those tests done and it came back negative, I think it might be safe to say that anxiety is causing the pain, which is probably something intestinal. Your nervousness and anxiety may be causing digestive issues and consequent cramping in that spot.

How is your diet? Are you eating properly, are you drinking enough water? Are you skipping a lot of meals? Sometimes when a person is suffering from anxiety they lose their appetite and a change in diet habits may bring on some intestinal discomfort.
