Pills stuck in throat concern

Hello lovely people
As some of u know I take quite a number of different pills for different conditions daily. There are so many times (especially with the capsule ones made of capsule with the medicine as powder inside) that stick to my throat or oesophagus when I drink th down each day. Sometimes it gets to the extent where I can taste or feel a numbing effect as the pill has started to absorb in the wrong area (before it's entered the stomach)....

Is this a worry? Can it cause throat issues? My mum told me that it's quite dangerous and my sis even mentioned throat cancer due to this recurring too many times..
What are your thoughts please?
Sometimes I even eat a bit of bread to get it down further but only helps sometimes..

Ah ok thanks for that. My mum kinda scared me when I complained about it once. The heart ones are the dodgiest - the capsule sticks so easily and then I can feel it numbing the throat and oesophagus about five mins later :/

I meant swish it around in your throat.  Sorry.

I don't think you have to worry about cancer, but many people have a problem swallowing larger pills and it can cause reflux and stomach problems.  Besides drinking water, you might want to swallow just a dab of aloe vera juice after taking the pill and swish it around in your mouth to help heal the swallowing area.  You can also suck on slippery elm lozenges like Thayers.  Both are good at coating damaged tissue all the way down the digestive system.  With pills you can get a pill splitter to make them smaller but with capsules it's not possible.  With herbs you can just open the capsule and pour the powder in water -- make a tea -- with most of them, but you can't do that with medication.  Part of this may also be psychological -- try just drinking it down without tipping your head or doing anything unusual, just as you would swallow just water.  (Can you tell I've had this problem?)
