Plastic bags

Hi all,
This is my first post here and I have a question.  I have a friend who put everything in a plastic bag.  Everything from her personal assets to foods.  Examples are tang, napkins, shoes, empty bottles, empty detergent box, and etc.  Her room is filled with things in plastic bag.  Is she paranoid that someone might take her things away?  This seems very extreme to me.  I have never met anyone like this in my life.  She said a teacher taught her to practice putting things in plastic bag.  I think she is just paranoid.  Is there any suggestions to what is wrong with her?
