Poor vision upon awakening

by LukeL, Dec 05, 2006 12:00AM
Virtually every day I wake up my vision is blurred and everything looks different. Colors are different and  some things look like they are in a dream world (a stack of books looks like an old tape deck from the 1980s,people have different facial characteristics) But twice I have woken up (both times from REM sleep, and once I was dreaming and on the verge of falling asleep) and seen a black circle in the center of my vision. All these things go away in a manner of seconds and improve with blinking.

I was wondering if anyone here has had similar problems.

I am worried this could be a cardiac thing especially with the black circle. But I have checked my pulse during an epsiode and it was steady and normal. Also I beleive with fainting your vision slowy fades away in the opposite direction.
