Primary Care or Specialist?

I have been having pain in my calf for a long time and of course in the beginning I mentioned it to my doctor but he told me not to worry about it AND I had a blood test for clots when I was in the ER due to my anxiety.  Can anyone tell me who I should see regarding this?  You know the first thing that ran thru my mind was blod clot/DVT.  Needless to say my mind is a little bogged down right now.  I am just trying to figure out what specialist I need to see as I have no idea.  Or do I need to see my PCF first.  Any answers would be GREATLY appreciated.

If I may add a caveat: It is an intermitent pain; however, I exercised pretty hard for the first time in months and the next day while at work I got up from my chair and notied a pain in my lower calf muscle.  It didn't ache, but an actual pain....I do have vericose veins too (sp?).

OK, that was THEN, and this is NOW. That you still have the pain warrants, I believe, another chat with the doctor, same as any other thing that just hangs on. A dentist friend of mine tells people about the "five most dangerous words in the world," which are these:

MAYBE IT WILL GO AWAY.

I'm guessing the doc will give you a referral to a specialist -you should feel free to ask for it. As to the mental space you give the problem, consider this: even if you had no anxiety whatsoever, this is a problem you'd take care of, right?
