Propanalol beta blockers question

Has anyone here ever taken propanalol , I've been prescribed this medicine for my head pains and "anxiety"
I've been told to have 10mg a day , 3 tablets once a day.
I've seen someone post saying its had an effect on excercise and that they feel their heart rate was different ?? Would like to know if the amount I'm having would do this to me if and when I do excercise

I asked my doc if it would have an effect on my blood pressure as I'm aware it lowers it.. She told me it shouldn't as its a small dosage ...

Hey nurse girl

can it cause extreme dizziness? I really dislike medication because of the side effects..
I haven't actually taken them yet as I'm worried, I just feel as though they haven't given me the right meds ? :/

Sometimes they are also prescribed to anxiety sufferers who have a lot of benign cardiac symptoms with their anxiety/panic, like palpitations, PVCs, tachycardia.

It will definitely decrease both your pulse and your blood pressure, so you would want to be extra cautious while you're adjusting to the medication.

Report any problems to your doctor, like dizziness, etc.

How long have you been taking it?

This type of drug is usually only used for social anxiety or things like stage fright -- do you have those?

Do you have PTSD? If so, I wonder why a beta blocker was prescribed. Usually an alpha blocker is the drug of choice for anxiety/PTSD.

I take Metoprolol ER which is in the same class beta blocker, 25MG 2x day.  Beta Blockers slow your heart rate, but I don't feel a difference with mine.  The only thing is when exercising, it's harder to get your target heart rate up, but I don't think with your dosage it should make a difference.....
