Prozac

I have had anxiety and depression for a while now. Just recently I was put on Prozac from 125mg of zoloft. I am now taking 20mg of prozac and 2mg of Klonopin at night. I feel lightheaded and dizzy, I always have a headache and half the time feel depersonalization. I hate it!  My psych this morning told me it's not the meds, he says that I am just anxiuos and making myself think it's the meds. He also said I could come off of anti- depressants all together if I want to. Has anyone ever had anxiety and depression and gone off meds, and been ok? Please help me! I don't know what to do.

I think i am experiencing zoloft agitation, or maybe not. at any rate therapist are $100 to $200 per hr. many people cant afford 400.00 to $800.00 per month. The idea of intense one on one therapy weekly is a pipe dream for many.

Sho 'nuff. I came off the meds, the therapy helped me understand what was going on with me, I now have no panic (free of it for 8 years) don't use meds, and have never looked back. Badda-bing!

Sounds easy, no?

It wasn't, and it isn't. It is HARD WORK. I get it that your psych tells you this and that. But is that in the context of on-going therapy -or just a visit to see how you're doing? If you ARE getting the on-going talk therapy it should lead you through a self-discovery process that can be very fruitful. And if you are NOT -well, it will probably take longer.

I understand your question: you are asking if anyone has ever quit the meds WHILE they still have panic/anxiety. And the answer is, yes, of course they have.  The reduction in my meds was timed to coincide with a growing sense of wellness; there came a point, so it seemed, where my own brain started doing on its own what the meds had been doing before. But that really can't be assessed until and unless the contact with therapy occurs regularly and often.

It is possible that the meds you are taking are not in proper adjustment. Solution? Get in front of the doc and talk it out -every last detail. And consider that, "at the end of the day," a cure will come from with YOU -not from a pill, a supplement or a food.

I hope this helps.
