Question about Fluoxetine (Prozac)

by fluffyrabbits, May 04, 2007 12:00AM
Right now I'm taking 20mg a day of fluoxetine. I'm wondering,... is this really enough to be making a BIG difference? If I decided to stop taking it, would it really mess me up to just "stop"? and if I weened off of it, how do you do that? Just I'm thinking maybe I can get along fine without it.... and also, is it possible for the medicine itself to make you feel all jittery? or is that just anxiety? Cuz I usually feel best when I wake up in the morning before I've taken that pill, and by the end of the day I feel all jittery. So could it have anything to do with the medicine? or is it just that sleeping all night has calmed me down?

Definitely tell your doctor that you would like to come off the medication and then let him give you a schedule on how to wean yourself off....don't do it yourself...do it with the consultation of your doctor.
