Question about Valium and Medications

by camry111, Jul 22, 2009 08:19PM
Hello everyone, I have suffered with Anxiety Since January this Year. I was on Lexapro and Xanax from about February to end of March. I came off my medications with withdrawl problems mainly from the Lexapro. I have been off the Meds for about 3 Months but my Anxiety is back and need relief therefore I'm going back on the Meds.
This is just me but I like Xanax ok but it last such a short period of time I dont like taking it multiple times during the day. Ativan does not settle well with me and I refuse to go back on Lexapro.
A med that seems to work pretty well is Valium. It stays with me all day with just 5 mg dose in the morning and I feel halfway normal when I take it.
My question is for anyone out there who has taken Valium for a long period of time and has had success with it. I have done Months of reseach on the different types of Meds out there and have heard all the horror stories. I am interested  in the folks who have used Valium for a long periods of time, who have used it without increasing there dosages to insane amounts and have had success with it. What works for them and what does'nt. Thanks

Hi I have had anxiety attacks since i was 6. am now 50. I have taken 5 ml valium for last 30 years without dosage getting higher. I am now on paxil and I hardly ever need to take them. As long as you don't let yourself go over limit you can do it. I also took breaks when I was pregnant twice. It can be done, you just have to limit yourself. Like I take 1 and if i'm really in a bad way I tkae 2 but that is rare that I will go to 2 and I don't take them everyday. Steph
