I took Valium, 10 mg. two to three times a day and later was able to reduce it to 10 mg. once a day. When I took Valium 10 mg. once a day with Sinequan (doxepin) 50 mg. once a day, I felt much, much less tense.
I suffered with this for years and years. I don't know exactly what made it go away, but for the most part, it did. Now, I only feel tense once in awhile, not often at all.
I just felt terribly tense all the time, almost stiff and I had trouble swallowing because I would tense up my throat every time something was in my mouth. Going to the dentist was terrible for me. For years, I lived on liquids. When it was at it's worst, I would feel like I couldn't breathe simply because my chest muscles were so tense. I just couldn't relax.

I hope you feel a lot better soon. Good luck.
