Quick question about Ativan and other meds;

So I am on Lorazepam (Ativan) 1 mg that i break in half and take one half everyday .
I was wondering the chances of me getting addicted and will my panic attacks be worse IF I don't take it?

Also, what are some great anti-panic attack and depression meds, I cant take Zoloft. I need a heads up because I will be going to the mental health clinic and need to address certain meds and ask them. I want everyones honest to gods answer to what type of meds would help beat severe panic disorder and not be used LONG TERM.

Thanx!!

Addiction is the wrong term for what happens when we take certain meds over a long period of time. You will not become "addicted" to your Ativan. You may develope a "tolerance," which is entirely different, and may mean you will only have to increase your dosage a small amount for it to remain effect. This can take a very long time to happens. We are all different.

It is really not our place to "recommend" any med, but if you want, you could discuss Klonopin as one possible long term treatment. Just don't let them give you Xanax for "long term use." It is NOT meant for use longer than 4 months.

I strongly urge you to read some of Ryans posts regarding long term benzos. He is the one and ONLY person on this forum to trust for totally accurate information.

Good luck and I'm glad you're feeling better
Peace
