I would be more worried about crossing the road and driving a car, than worrying about things that will probably not happen in our lifetime. As JSGeare said denial is agreat asset! So yeah, stop worrying and keep occupied with things in life that you have CONTROL over. There is one undeniable certainty out of our control, death and taxes.
Tell me where you came up with that handle and I'll tell you something about your strange thoughts. The interesting thing is that your thoughts are perfectly reasonable given the subject matter. The earth is, in fact, hurdling through the universe at a high rate of speed. And the sun will, in fact, blow up one day and global warming will seem like an ice-box compared to that. But that's only if we are not wiped out by a big rock hitting us first. Scientists study this stuff all the time. They've even told the government to start looking for big rocks out there. My guess is you picked these things up on some Science Channel or Discovery or National Geo program or something similar.
There's not much you can do about any of that -not much anybody can do. So how do folks get on with their lives, then? One word:
DENIAL.
You realize that those awful things probably will not happen today -someday, yes, but not today, probably not this week, this year or this century. So, meanwhile, what are you going to do with yourself? What you are going to do is something you CAN do something about. Your income, your love life, repairs to the house, change the oil -whatever. And you find yourself thinking about that stuff, instead.
'Nuff said?
