Relaxation & Meditation Problem

My therapist says to do these sessions 3 to 6 times a day when my anxiety is so severe. I am having a problem with it - as I start to relax I get more severe symptoms - my face and arms burn - my muscles cramp up - the nausea increases and other distressing symptoms that don’t even have names.

It can be so bad I can't hardly focus on my breathing. This is not anxiety increasing but physical symptoms for the most part.

Another question: one of my anxiety friends doctor told her to do these 10 to 15 minutes every hour she is awake. Has anyone else been told to do it that much?

Thanks

Tell your therapist that whatever "sessions" she has advised you do just makes everything worse. Time for Plan B.

First off, we have no idea what "do these" means. I don't know about where you work or what you do, but I sure as hell couldn't take 15 minutes every hour. Well, actually I could. Once I was fired, I'd have the time while standing in the unemployment line.

its not my area of expertise at all. Focus on something simple like a wall, a chair, and think about the color of it, the texture, what it represents. Everyday practice your breathing for about 3 minutes a day, consecutively. dont go over 15 breaths a minute. To help relax your muscle spasms, have 2-4 baths a week, make sure its lavender baths. Sit in the hot water with relaxing music for about an hour.

It will help your muscles relax and free your mind from harms way. A proper diet and exercise plan is very beneficial to your health as well. With a proper cardio/weight lifting program and a meal program, youll be on your way to recovery.

coming from a person who suffered from panic attacks and now, down to 0 due to  simple changes in my life, can really help yourself without medications or a doctor telling you " you have a disorder" which i believe its all ********. The power is within you. You are your problem and you are your solution. Always seek advice, help and support to get you through this stage to get your life back on track.

if you have any questions, do not hesitate to email me. If you want to contact me feel free to email me digits ill be more than happy to help.
