STOP! (and look)

Time for everyone to take a breather, and look around the forum. Go ahead, scroll up and down the page. What do you see?

What you see is this incredibly active and very gifted group of people taking care of each other, THAT'S what you see! Possibly for the first time since I've been haunting these halls, I see no post unanswered unless I scroll WAY down the page. And what this tells me is that the very best therapy we do for ourselves is our involvement with others, the application of our brains, our experience and our compassion for the empowerment of those around us.

You people are so incredibly GOOD for each other. This forum actually DOES something. I know from the PM's I've received and simply from observation that many who come here find in a few days or sometimes even just a few hours that they receive the hope, encouragement and actual, measurable improvement -which seemed so difficult to find in all years before. And in every case -every one, without exception- the insights and improvements come from within us and are set free by the attention, wisdom and compassion of people who act on their own will and volition without thought of personal gain.

We are all learning how to get better -and so we ARE getting better.

Just look at what you are doing.

Incredible.

"quote" We all, I think, have a tendency to look at the first page or two and respond to what we find there. This is great, but I think we can and must do more. If you scroll back FOUR or FIVE pages, you will find someone who tells us they are scared or desperate or alone..........but nobody has responded to them. " end quote Greenlydia

I think they call that 'paying it forward' Greenlydia,,definatly a gift we can give ourselves because someday the need may be called from ourselves,, and who will answer then?

Its been a really good day. I saw something interesting on tv today, just a commercial really,,, it was a show about science really trying to create a dinasour from dna they scavaged off those dino mummies or something recently. Lots of big break throughs in reproductive medicine  too recently. Anyhow.. the thought occured to me... first we had stories of dragons,, then we found their bones,, recently we found thier 'mummies',, and now we may create one.

Its almost like we are creating our reality, dreaming of something and over the centuries watching it become real and physical. Everything we have ever dreampt of we have created or discovered or...... very interesting.  shrugs heck if I know but it is interesting. Especially if we are creating our own fears and anxietys too, just by what we choose to focus our attention on,, whether its all the negitive **** on tv or our health or whatever...

Ah well, off to bed.. night night :0)

Our fearless leader has once again handed out the cookies, made us all realize just how little it takes to reach out to someone who is hurting and scared, and often in that process, we help ourselves. We ARE incredible...........especially you Scotty!

Scott has advised us all to scroll down the page and see just how much support is being offered here, and it IS amazing that so many people, even in the midst of their own pain, can find it in themselves to reach their hand out to someone else. I am honored to be among such caring folks.

I would like to add a little addendum to Scotts message regarding scrolling. I know he has brought this up before and I think it's very important. We all, I think, have a tendency to look at the first page or two and respond to what we find there. This is great, but I think we can and must do more. If you scroll back FOUR or FIVE pages, you will find someone who tells us they are scared or desperate or alone..........but nobody has responded to them. It may be because we feel we can't relate to their problem and therefore we can't help, so we leave it blank, hoping someone else will fill in that blank. But even if all we do is acknowledge that we have read their post, let them know we care and tell them to keep posting, then we've done SOMETHING to help. And the fact that that post will then return to page one gives that person another chance of finding someone who CAN help.

Scott gaves us a wonderful pat on our collective backs and then I come along and give us a collective kick in the knickers............well, someone has to be the party pooper, why not me?
